"You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go."

Put me in the Zoo
Mikayla reading "Put Me in The Zoo" by Robert Lopshire (part of the Dr. Seuss series" at 39 months.
The New Year
We had a hectic start to the New Year, I'm sure, though I can't quite remember what we were busy with. Blame it on Mommy Brain.

Can you see the resemblance? :) Kayla's a wonderful doting sister. She plays with Mia, checks on her when she cries and even lovingly tells her, "It's okay, Mia. Don't cry. Mommy's here."

Mia's a happy (make that very happy) baby.

From cool chick to cool cat!

Catching Up
The easiest way, I figure, to get up to date with blogging is by putting together a summary post of each month. And we shall start with December!

Baking therapy! I made "Play Doh" cookies, thumbprint cookies, sugar cookies, chocolate cookies--the works! Kayla loved those lollipop cookies, made from colored sugar cookie dough. :)

Kayla had fun baking too. This year, she learned how to stir, use the cookie cutter to cut shapes out of rolled dough and she also helped me put icing on some cookies.
A sweet shot of Mia at 3 months!
At the tail end of the month, we sent Kayla to grandma's for two days and gave her a surprise room makeover. That's the IKEA Kura bed which we "hacked." The plan was to paint the room pink as well, but putting the bed together took us too much time and energy. Besides, I think there's enough pink everywhere!
The holidays were double the fun for Kayla this year, since she's older and understands more of what's going on. She's able to appreciate gifts better as well. And yes, she got a ton of gifts this year (Special thanks to Aunty Shin and Aunty Lynn for sending their love all the way from Singapore!).
We put up our Christmas tree for the second year running. This year, we even found time (amazingly) to put up a wreath on our front door. A rare picture of me and the girls!
Kayla's working on a Christmas craft at Grandma's. In the other picture, she's trying out her new skate scooter (Thank you Uncle Ryan, Aunty Tina and Emmy!) with cousin, Emmy.
